Most moms with toddlers and young children face a challenge everyday when it comes to feeding their picky eaters. It seems that the biggest complaint of moms is that they cannot get their child to eat enough of the daily recommended servings of fruit or vegetables.
The use of blenders has seemed to become a thing of the past. This very crucial appliance was once a staple in every mom’s kitchen. There are some very simple recipes that can be created using a blender that even the most finicky eaters are sure to love.
Making a fruit smoothie is probably the easiest way to get your young child to eat a serving of fruit without them making a fuss. Smoothies can be made with virtually any type of fruit, so try to choose fruits that your child already enjoys.
In a blender –
*Add 1 cup fresh sliced strawberries and 1 cup of fresh blueberries (or frozen if fresh is not available)
Add ¾ to 1 cup of low fat vanilla yogurt
1 cup of low fat milk
1 teaspoon of sugar – optional (Splenda is preferred)
6-8 ice cubes
Blend all ingredients until smooth (almost pureed)
Pour into fun, kid friendly cups and serve.

This recipe is not only fun for your children to help you make but it is delicious and nutritious, it also provides your child a necessary daily serving of fruit.
